Why not say ¡Hola! to Spain’s Balearic Islands this autumn?
MySea are pleased to announce that one of our most popular yachts, M/Y Jazz of Monaco, will be available for charter in these picturesque Spanish waters from the start of September.
Just off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, and easily accessible from Barcelona, the Balearic Islands form one of the rare archipelagos found in the western Mediterranean Sea and were seemingly created specifically for yacht charter!
Mallorca is the largest of the island chain, followed by Menorca, Formentera and world-renowned Ibiza. Palma de Mallorca is the capital and the gateway to the Balearic Islands. Its charming port is one of the Mediterranean’s most established yachting centres.
Imagine days spent cruising crystal clear waters, with hidden coves and rugged cliffs as the backdrop. On Mallorca alone, nearly half the island is protected countryside, to give you a glimpse of the natural beauty to be discovered.
An absolute highlight is Cabrera National Park, an unspoilt islet less than an hour’s cruising away from Mallorca. The reserve boasts an interesting history – during the Napoleonic Wars over 9000 French Prisoners were exiled here. Yet today its secluded harbour and turquoise waters combine to create the perfect spot for swimming, snorkelling, or taking advantage of the toys found onboard M/Y Jazz of Monaco.
As you can imagine, the archipelago boasts a rich and fascinating history. We’d recommend taking some time to explore the warren of cobbled streets of villages likeValldemossa or soak up the creative atmosphere in Deià, a Mallorcan village whose charm has inspired more than one canvas over the centuries.
When it’s time for lunch, there’s a smorgasbord of local produce and wines to indulge on– Spanish cuisine is one of the finest and freshest in the world after all!
In the evening, lively ports such as Mahon on Menorca boast waterfront restaurants and bars and the nightlife on Ibiza needs no introduction. The biggest nights of the year fall in September on the island, as open air clubs such as Ushuaia hold closing parties to mark the end of another season.
Sounds like the perfect holiday, doesn’t it?
Early autumn is one of the best times to visit the area, as temperatures are still high yet there are fewer people and yachts crowding for space. Imagine having this little slice of paradise to yourself!
The Balearic Islands are just waiting to be discovered from onboard M/Y Jazz of Monaco, a Benetti Tradition which, at 30 metres length, is the perfect size to drop anchor in some of the more secluded coves of these world famous Spanish islands.
